Vinted Shoppers Express Displeasure Over Size Updates
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change.
Digital Channels Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping.
The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms.
They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
Member Accounts
One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained.
Service Background
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
