European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’
European leaders including the French president accused the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the visa restrictions targeted individuals who have been central to campaigns to enact laws regulating American tech companies.
“For far too long, European activists have led coordinated campaigns to pressure US companies to punish American viewpoints they disagree with,” wrote a senior US official in a social media post. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
