It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Certain people claim the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
